We have some very sad news for you all tonight.

We’re very sorry to hear of the passing of Phil Lewis.

Phil first joined the club when he was restoring his Lotus Twincam over 25 years ago. After enjoying the Lotus for a few years he sold it to take on his next MkII restoration, a very rare Crayford V6 saloon but not before taking the job of editor for our club magazine “The Indicator”. He stayed in the role for many many years, also taking on Vice Chairman for a while too.

Always preferring the rebuilding rather than the driving, after using the Crayford for a couple of seasons Phil got itchy fingers and was on the search again for another MkII to work on. The project he took on was a Savage that had been off the road for years that had been painted and apparently just needing to be put back together. It turned out to be his biggest project to date but finished up every bit as good as his previous efforts and won many awards including Car of Show at our National Rally.

Our thoughts tonight are with his wife Jenny and his sons.

RIP Phil.
