With Chairman Pete Pascoe’s Lotus Twincam restoration project just back from the paint shop someone decided he could trailer it nearly four hours up the road up where we would all join in and help him put it back together in front of the crowds at the National Restoration Show. For some strange unknown reason, he agreed.

The ambitious plan involved Graham Orchard joining Pete the day before in the pouring rain to get the car, engine and hoist, and all the other parts loaded up ready for assembly at the National Agricultural Centre at Stoneleigh. They were absolutely soaked through by the time they hit the road and hadn’t dried out properly in the time it took to get to their hotel for the night.

We might just have managed to have the Silver Bucket drive out at the end of the show had they not left the box with the clutch in at home. Some great progress was made anyway though and Pete had his car back on the road not long after.
